Tools and Resources

I use a variety of online tools for my virtual business to make sure that things run smoothly, and I can take care of my clients efficiently.

So I’ve compiled a list of my go-to tools to share the love, if some of these can help your business run more smoothly then I’ll be a happy camper.

In full disclosure, some of these are affiliate links so if that bothers you just Google the name instead of clicking the link.

Regardless, hand on heart I use these tools regularly and happily recommend them.

Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.

I’ve been using SiteGround for hosting websites (almost) since day 1; both my own and my clients.

After my 1st website’s hosting shemozzle, I tried SiteGround based on a recommendation about 10 years ago and have LOVED them ever since.

With awesome uptime, easy to use portal, and amazing 24/7 customer service I won’t be looking anywhere else.

MailChimp is my preferred email marketing and email automation system.

With lots and lots of inbuilt features and integrations with other big name brands there isn’t too much MailChimp can’t do to help you get your message into your audiences inbox.

I looove hitting publish on my client’s newsletters PLUS I’m MailChimp Certifed

I’m a one-time PhotoShop user, and now that I’ve found Canva I doubt that I’ll ever go back.

Canva is my go-to for creating social media images, but Insta-ready images are not Canva’s only superpower. It has included stock images, templates and graphic elements.  You can invite other users to your account and also share your designs with others.

The free Canva option is good, but the paid version is great – go on, treat yourself!

Creative Market is like a candy store for digital assets where you will find graphics, fonts, photos, templates, logos…and so much more!

BTW each week they also give away 4 amazing digital assets.  All you need to do is go to the website, look near the top right of the screen for ‘Free Assets’ and download them.

You’re welcome!

I liken Trello to a wall of digital sticky-notes that you can move between columns such as ‘to-do’, ‘in-progress’ and ‘done’.

Start your Trello from scratch, or use on of the millions of templates for inspiration, and then go forth and collaborate!

Add images, links, check boxes, due dates, team mates or clients.  There truly isn’t much you can’t track with Trello.

Loomly has been my go-to social media scheduling tool since 2021.

This software is user-friendly, intuitive as well as feature-packed.  It includes more social platforms than you can poke a stick at, including all the regulars plus a bunch of less mainstream ones.

New features and updates are regularly released which makes sure that Loomly keeps up with the fast-paced world of social media.

Whether you’re managing your own or someone else’s socials I recommend Loomly.

As a freelancer, it’s super important that I protect myself and my business, as well as set clear guidelines with my clients on what I will deliver for them.

Enter…Foundd.

Foundd Legal are an Australian legal business that provides legal document templates for a huuuuuge range of freelance and creative industries.

I had purchased legal agreements from another Australian business previously and feedback from clients was far from positive so I’m eternally grateful for finding Foundd!

20 years ago I pledged to NEVER deal with Telstra (ask me if you’re game) so I had many happy years with Vodafone.

When I last moved house the Voda mobile coverage was no good meaning my business would grind to a halt. Enter Belong!

They are Telstra owned (=great network + coverage) but independently operated.  So no ‘dealing’ with Telstra.
